9/22/13 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Tuesday

by Katie (Jenny Craig 2009 Poster Girl) 22. September 2012 19:03

Yesterday I was asked if there is a time that's too late to eat your meals.  Jenny Craig used to suggest that I try to eat my last "snack" about two hours before bed.  I was told even if I was not hungry to eat it anyway.  My body needs a certain amount of calories and the snack before bed is a little more fuel to help keep the metabolism running while I sleep.  However, if you are truly following my diet regime you will find that you'll want to eat dinner fairly early anyway.  Since no meal is of large quantities you should notice your body getting hungry about every 4 1/2 or 5 hours.  My fruit in the late afternoon holds me over for about 30 minutes.  Typically by about 5 or 5:30 I'm starving and ready for dinner!  Other girls I have talked to on the program have shared similar sentiments regarding the afternoon snack and dinner.  Pay attention to when your stomach really is telling you its hungry - not just because you're bored or everyone else at the party is doing it.  You really will see results if you're motivated to sticking to a balanced meal plan with limited amounts of alcohol and dining out.

As for my friend that I mentioned yesterday that would like to lose about 20 pounds...she is determined to be successful.  I will check back in with her next Monday to see what questions she has and if she's lost a pound or two yet!
