10/14/13 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Wednesday

by Katie (Jenny Craig 2009 Poster Girl) 14. October 2012 19:09

You know how some people you just mesh with and others you don't?  Last night I went into Jenny Craig since I'm back to weekly check-in's for awhile.  Since we moved and I'm at a new Centre I don't have a consultant that is considered "mine" whom I will see regularly.  I had a different lady than last week.  For some reason I just felt this consultant was not for me.  I had lost .4 pounds from last week but I could tell she was thinking, "what in the heck is this girl doing here?!"  She asked why I was coming back in for weekly visits and there seemed to be some disapproval to her voice.  I knew she was wondering if I have some sort of eating disorder or "issue" since I was unhappy with my weight...I would be the first to admit that I definitely do, but that doesn't discredit the fact that I have gained in fact seven pounds since I was weighed-in a year ago.  Molly, my amazing consultant from the previous centre, understood that my metabolism moved at a snail's pace.  She knew that it had taken me a lot longer than the average person to lose the weight.  For many weeks, sometimes months, I plateaued and she was adamant that we would find a way to break the cycle.  This new consultant does not know anything about me; nor does she know the struggles I have had.  She sees the end result of JC and I can tell she judges.  She even had me fill out a sheet that new clients are supposed to complete (and I know this was so she could enter my information into the system to make sure what I wanted was a "healthy weight").  Of course she received the same answer my doc had told me, a girl who is 5'3" should be somewhere between 107 and 137.  Currently I'm right in the middle but she was shocked to see how low it was for my height.  I'm trying to keep an open mind because maybe I am just stuck on what I'm familiar with but it just doesn't seem that this person is going to be committed to helping me with what I'm trying to achieve.  It seems clear that she already has her preconceived notions.  I feel rude calling and asking for a new consultant.  Ugh, I hate the experimental period until I find the right consultant for me...
