2/2/14 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Tuesday

I think my husband loves when we go out-of-town.  Since I'm such a big believer in eating healthy he has made it a priority also.  However, one of his big vices is doughnuts.  I refuse to buy them; not because he's not "allowed" to have them; but because, they are a big temptation for me as well...especially ones with sprinkles or the glazed with vanilla creme inside (not the pudding).  Since I'm the one grocery shopping I never buy doughnuts for breakfast in our house.  Although, I know honestly my husband wouldn't want them in the house either because he's always trying to be conscientious of his weight (even though he sure does have it good!  Even if he eats whatever he wants and gains weight, it melts right off.)  But, this weekend when we were driving home from Cleveland we basically jumped right in the car, he started driving, and hadn't had breakfast.  This is typical for car trips when he is the one driving home.  So, it has seemed to become a ritual that the only time he breaks down and eats those doughnuts are coming home from out-of-town trips.  Oh my gosh, I was practically drooling as he ate a chocolate iced doughnut with sprinkles and a huge cinnamon roll.  I am fully aware that if I ate a doughnut not only would I gain weight but I would "crash" from too much sugar and then feel like crap.  Ah, but I can still be jealous of my hubby's amazing metabolism can't I?
