I really don't think people understand what a serving size actually is, my family members included.  They complain (and I used to do it too) that they are eating healthy, low-fat foods, working out and still not losing weight.  Well, unfortunately many of us hit a rock wall when it comes to losing weight.  Most peoples' metabolisms aren't what they used to be once they hit a certain age.  My Mom kept telling me when I was younger, "Just wait until your late twenties.  It won't only be you that struggles many of your friends will too.  All that beer and take out food eventually hits almost everyone."  Yes, there are those few lucky people that get to eat whatever they want, however the majority of us start looking thicker around the middle.  But, I don't think many really understand how small a serving size can be.  Your meat is about the size of the palm of your hand (that's not very big, is it?).  Everything comes with a serving size and if people actually measured out those serving sizes I bet they would start seeing results on the scale.  Yes, it's more work and it's kind of annoying, but I'd rather pull out a measuring cup and make sure my body gets calories and fat that only a serving size contains as opposed to working out for an hour with no results.


Breakfast - 

1 packet no sugar added oatmeal with 1/4 cup organic raisins

1 cup fat-free organic milk

Lunch - 

Lean Gourmet Michelina's Spaghetti


Fat-free yogurt

Snack -

1/2 cup no sugar added applesauce

Dinner -

2 oz. whole wheat pasta, broccoli, and 2 oz. tofu with 1 serving of laughing cow swiss cheese melted

Brussel Sprouts with 2 tbsp. light margarine

Snack - 

Skinny Cow

My day was kind of frazzled so I was looking for something interesting and this worked.
