4/21/14 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Wednesday

Ah!  What a way to start of the morning!  I literally was hurling until I couldn't hurl anymore when I got to school this morning.  I was pretty bummed because I was testing all day.  I know to some of you testing seems like no big deal; but to schools it is one of the largest deals of the school year.  I guess it would be compared to that "big, huge project" that loomed over your head all year and was finally here.  For teachers, we have been prepping all year for this. Not only do we take it very seriously but the state does too and any slight misstep could affect your scores or even cause you to lose your teaching license.  It takes the kids two and a half hours to take the test.  Since I am an Intervention Specialist my students get extended time, they could take all day if they wanted to, and trust me, some do!  Leave it to this morning to be sick as a dog and then test one student in the morning and one in the afternoon.  I felt sluggish, shaky, exhausted, and sick the rest of the day.  Fun stuff isn't it?  Have I convinced you to get pregnant yet? :) I keep hearing how worth it is in the end and that soon I will start to feel better.  Well I am sure all of those things will eventually be in my thought process but right now I can't say I'm all warm and fuzzy about being pregnant.  Seriously if one more mom says to me, "It's so worth it - you'll get through this."  I realize they are trying to give my negative thoughts a pep talk but seriously?!  Right now I'm just trying to get through the day - there really seems to be no end in sight at the moment.  Sad thing is, if you've never been pregnant with morning sickness you just don't get it.  Some of you have that "suck it up" mentality and that's all well and fine but SORRY feeling like you're constantly going to puke or you having to run to the bathroom takes up a large portion of everyday.  All the sudden going out to restaurants, hanging out with friends, and just having some kind of normal life doesn't seem possible.  Ah well, this too shall pass, right?
