Currently my husband and I are on vacation.  I think some type of vacation at least once a year is always important.  It doesn't even have to be luxurious - just some time away from your typical routines and stress.  Many of the health magazines I've been reading state that vacation is important for a person's physical and mental health.  Taking a week for yourself in a new surrounding allows you to leave the stress at home temporarily.  It enables you to be come back to that stress with a sense of renewal and the energy to handle it. 

Every morning we wake up and take a walk on the beach.  I try to go early in the morning because being pregnant hasn't allowed the same capacity for the hot weather.  If I am not in the pool or shade I quickly become sick to my stomach.  It's so beautiful out here - I feel totally relaxed and peaceful!


Breakfast -

English Muffin with a spoonful of eggs

3/4 cup watermelon

1 cup fat-free milk

Lunch -

Grilled Chicken Sandwich on whole wheat bun with lettuce and tomato

Fat-free yogurt

Snack -


Dinner -

2 oz. grilled shrimp over pasta with asparagus and tomatoes with a light wine sauce

Salad (romaine, croutons, tomatoes) light balsamic

Snack -

1 scoop low-fat soft serve vanilla/chocolate twist
