Today we went over to my family's beach house to visit them. Three families are staying in the house and it gave me awesome memories of when I was a kid. My Dad is one of 9 siblings. Needless to say we have a large family. His younger sisters still have kids that are in fourth grade and above. My oldest cousin is in her late 30's with two young kids of her own. These three families are a blast to be around. We cooked out tonight and played some left, right, center. I can't tell you how relaxing it was. This is why I needed to get away - it's been a rough year for me and I just needed some sunshine, family time, and beautiful beach to remind me of all I have to be thankful of. The three families in the beach house were exactly how it was when I was growing up except the oldest four kids in my Dad's family all had kids my age. For that one week spending time with all my cousins was always a blast. I will forever look back upon those memories as some of the best times of my life. It's so cool that all my younger cousins are getting to experience it right now. It makes me think how fun it will be when my own son is born. I hope he gets to have these great memories too.
