Don't laugh at my complete lack of knowledge about breastfeeding. I have some questions I want to ask my doctor on the next prenatal visit. First of all, I have only witnessed this with more acuteness since I've been pregnant. I didn't pay much attention to this phenomenon before being prego because I just simply could not relate to it. I am sure I've mentioned in the past that I had a breast-reduction surgery when I was 23 years old. My boobs were huge and I was tired of them always getting in the way; not to mention, a doctor that said I would have back problems in the near future if not already. The only catch was that I may not be able to breastfeed. To be honest, I didn't care much - I couldn't look that much into the future. Now however, I have lots of questions because some are saying I may be able to. So far it's been a good excuse to say no. But, I'm not going to lie, I have some questions revolving around my vanity, sanity, and the sake of my child. Two new Mom's I've seen try breastfeeding look exhausted from no help from the spouse in this regard, painful, bloody nipples, and end up producing not enough milk. To top it off, both their babies scream bloody murder frequently. But, in just two weeks have lost a ton of weight. Two other Mom's I know who did not breastfeed have calm babies and they are alert and less tired Mom's from not breastfeeding or pumping every hour. However, the weight is coming off more slowly for them. I don't know if these are just four cases that have had a lot of coincidences or these are actual patterns for the pro or con of breastfeeding. Does anyone have any insight for me? FRIDAY Breakfast - 2 low-fat waffles with 1/4 cup syrup Banana 1 cup fat-free organic milk Lunch - Michelina's Lean Gourmet Mac & Cheese Fat-free yogurt Celery Snack - Nectarine Dinner - 2 oz. turkey burger with lettuce and tomato 1/2 cup mashed potatoes Asparagus drizzled with balsamic Snack - 1/8 slice of sugar-free angel food cake
