28 weeks! Finally, 7 months pregnant! I went for my monthly check up today and our baby boy's heartbeat sounds nice and healthy. My stomach is supposed to measure at 28 in. and it's at 27 so not too bad either. I did have to do the test today to check for gestational diabetes. Now before being pregnant my doctor said I was borderline diabetic which made waiting to eat when I was hungry almost painful, I get shaky and irritable, feel like I'm going to pass out, gain weight easily from sugar and feel sick from it. So of course, I wasn't surprised that there's the possibility I may have gestational diabetes. You are supposed to drink this highly sugary drink and within the hour they take your blood work. Being around 140 is ideal - I was at 170. Blah, what does this mean? I've got to take the actual gestational diabetes test now. I fast for eight hours, get blood drawn, drink the liquid except this time it's 10 times as sugary, get my blood drawn an hour later, and then an hour later from that. I'm dreading it. Like I said, not eating does not agree with me, add on a 2 1/2 pound baby in there and I'm doomed. I always feel nauseas pregnant if I don't eat. Lovely. Next weeks doctor visit is going to be amazing. Let's keep our fingers crossed I do not have it. MONDAY Breakfast - Jenny Craig Sunshine Sandwich 3/4 cup strawberries 1 cup fat-free organic milk Lunch - 2 tbsp. hummus, cucumber, tomato, and 1/2 whole wheat pita Fat-free yogurt Snack - Nectarine Dinner - 2 oz. whole wheat pasta, Healthy One's Ham, broccoli, mushrooms, parmesan cheese Snack - 100 calorie pack
