Today I had the gestational diabetes test. I stopped all eating and drinking at 10 last night. I must admit, due to my near pass-out experience, and another one I had earlier this week I was really worried I wouldn't make it through the test. Throughout this whole pregnancy I live, breathe, eat, and sleep water. I'm always thirsty and carry a jug with me everywhere I go. In fact, I have to have a huge glass of water ready before bed because the billion times I have to pee in the middle of the night also have me chugging a ton of water because I'm so thirsty. If I don't drink lots of water I end up feeling nauseous. Needless, to say, I have been pretty anxious the past few days about this impending test. However, I did make it through it! I woke up at 4:30 to get there by 6 (remember I live out in the country so everything takes an hour for me to get to). 6-7 was the worst part of the experience. I got dizzy, shaky, and sick to my stomach from absolutely no water or eating. But, even though those side effects were there for the last two hours they were not as prominent because my body started adapting to no food or water. The only other negative part of the test was that they have to draw your blood four times throughout the process. One lady I had was terrible and couldn't find my vein...no problem, she just started rooting around for it inside my skin! That one was swollen all day from her lack of care...fun stuff, I know. Tomorrow I will let you know the results! FRIDAY Breakfast - ***after the testing was done all I wanted was a plain, Panera bagel with low-fat cream cheese and an apple juice to help bring up my sugars (so even though bagels are the worst thing to eat; I did it! Lunch - Plum 1 cup of Healthy Choice Chicken Noodle Soup with 4 whole wheat crackers Snack - Nectarine Dinner - 1/8 slice of homemade cheese pizza with low-fat sauce and cheese Salad (romaine, croutons, tomatoes) 2 tbsp. light ranch Snack - I still wasn't feeling well (nauseous) so I opted out of a snack today
