8/18/14 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Wednesday

I read some interesting things today about being pregnant at 32 weeks. Typically the baby is now head down towards the vaginal canal in preparation for delivery. It is also getting increasingly smaller in there and in the next few weeks I will probably not be feeling the baby do nearly as many acrobatics and alien movements. That will be sad for me because I really enjoy feeling him move around and something about it is reassuring. The baby's five senses are all working by now and in the womb he is grasping for things, blinking, peeing, practicing breathing, and listening to the sounds outside the belly! I am getting more and more excited about his arrival. He now has a 50% chance of survival if he were to be born this week. During these last 7 or 8 weeks he will be doubling in weight from 4 pounds to anywhere from 6 to 10! I also start seeing my doctor every two weeks and in the last month it will turn into every week. Thank goodness I am finally in the home stretch! WEDNESDAY Breakfast - 2 Kashi Waffles with 1/4 cup sugar-free syrup Banana 1 cup fat-free organic milk Lunch - DINED OUT for a friend's birthday Eggplant with red pepper and onion on whole wheat bread Small serving of fresh fruit Snack - Tomato basil soup Dinner - Small slice of low-fat lasagna (turkey burger and low-fat mozzarella) Caesar salad with 2 tbps. light dressing Snack - Skinny Cow
