10/6/14 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Wednesday

I know people say you are not supposed to stress pregnant women out, however, when family members are in pain I think it's important to be honest about it.  Don't get me wrong, I love my mom to pieces and she's trying to protect me but I want to know when something is wrong.  I know there's nothing I can do but for some reason it's important that I know because I love her.  My Mom has had debilitating migraines off and on her whole life but I've never heard of having them for THIRTY days straight.  She has had to frequent the ER so much in the past year that I feel like they should know her by name.  Along with her migraines she cannot walk out into the light, she throws up constantly, many times she loses her vision, and has severe neck and back pain.  I feel awful and there's not a thing my Dad nor I can do for her.  This week she apparently had to go to the ER because it was so bad.  They gave her a shot that usually produces results.  But, this time, 3 hours later she was back to the same old symptoms.  She has called her neurologist FOUR times today to tell him she's in crisis mode and can hardly wait until Monday to see him (which already was rescheduled because the doctor got sick).  He has not called her back.  I'm disappointed in the medical profession.  She has seen so many different doctors already and none can figure out what's wrong.  I feel frustrated and worried for her.  To top it off, my grandma was taken to the hospital Monday evening...which my family failed to notify me about as well.  Don't scare the pregnant woman!  Well guess what?!  I am pretty sure that many would agree with me when when I say that I'd rather know and just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean I can't help in some way.  Family means so much to me and I can't imagine what I'd do without my Mom or my Grandma in my life.
