It's a new year which always means new year's resolutions. What are yours? In regards to fitness, it is to keep up my routine of hiking and cardio. I hope to keep working at my weight loss and be back to where I was by the time summer comes. I think this a slow and realistic expectation of trying to get rid of this baby weight. Slow and steady means the loss is healthier and more likely to stay off. As for my emotional health I am having trouble still dealing with hormones that occur during my menstrual cycle. I hated them when I was pregnant and I hate them when they occur each month. I like to be in control and they make me feel irrational and way more emotional than I care to be. So, my goal is to try and get a handle on them the best I can (remember before pregnancy, I hadn't had a period in 9 years. I forgot what it was like to have this monthly visitor...and I hate it!) I would also like to work on being more forgiving and less judgemental this year. During my pregnancy as I dealt with all those hormones for the first time I felt as if I couldn't let go of things that upset me. I want to resolve to move on from those things and think positively. I hope I can achieve all of this "work" on me this year!
Tomorrow is big changes for me. I go back to work. I think this first week is going to be intense until I can get into a routine as well as my son. Hopefully I will handle all the emotions as best I can and just plow through the week until I get to be with my son on the weekend all day. Thankfully we have wonderful mothers that are watching him every week. :) Wish me luck on my first day back tomorrow!
