3/3/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Thursday

On Saturday my son started on baby food.  We did a month of rice cereal and he absolutely loves it.  At my son's four month check up he was 13.25 lbs. and the doctor said after about 3-4 weeks of rice cereal it's time to move onto baby food.  We started him on peas first.  He did four days of peas and loved them.  Last night we started him on carrots which seemed to give him a little bit of stomach pain afterwards.  The reasoning behind starting with veggies is that if they have fruit first they won't want to go from sweet to vegetables.  You're supposed to do 4-5 days of only one kind of baby food in case there's a food allergy; then you'll know exactly what's bothering your baby.  We do rice cereal in the morning at Grandma's house, he gets formula all day, and then baby food for dinner.  He's gotten into an awful habit of wanting a bottle before bed...somehow I'm going to have to break him of that habit!  LOL, my husband and I are such dorks; we take pictures of him wearing each new food all over his face.  He's going to love me when he gets older.

***My diet is still not completely normal due to the stomach flu so I'm not going to record what I ate because it still consisted of a lot of liquids.  I just can't seem to shake feeling nauseous and having food run right through me (gross I know!)...maybe too much information? Wink
