You know I've confessed my love and "guilty pleasures" of shows such as Real Housewives and The Kardashians.  I just watched an episode recently on how hard the media has been on Khloe Kardashian.  Even her mom was giving her a hard time about her weight.  Khloe and her sisters have marketed a weight loss pill for the past several years.  Her mom told her she wasn't representing their brand very well.  I think she is a beautiful, curvy woman and young girls need more celebrity women to look up to that are curvy.  In fact, it's a shame that the Kardashians are even marketing a weight loss pill.  They are beautiful the way they are.  Khloe's husband is in love with her curves and he's not afraid to admit it.  The problem isn't the way Khloe's husband feels about her weight; it's the way Khloe feels about it.  She's gotten down on herself recently.  The media has been hard on her and eventually it beats a person down.  I wish we all could embrace our curves but it isn't that easy is it?

It is OK to be curvy and it's high time our society started promoting this look as opposed to waif, thin girls.  The weight loss pill the Kardashian's are promoting got me thinking about my own encounter with Metabolife in college.  My heart felt like it was literally going to pump right out of my chest.  I couldn't sleep.  Eventually just one pill wasn't doing the trick.  I started taking more and more.  I worry that other girls, too, go the pill route and I fear for heartattacks or heart problems in the future.  It was this very pain in my chest that caused me to start seeking the help of my parents and a counselor.  The pills and bulemia were a dangerous game I was playing with my life.  I really hope that one day girls will no longer have to feel this societal pressure...otherwise I fear that many may continue to have the same struggles I did/have.

Salad (mixed greens, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes) 2 tbsp. light ranch

JC Triple Chocolate Cheesecake
