The important thing to determine about worn teeth, whether in the front or back teeth, is did the wear occur in the past, or is it changing on a microscopic level daily, that gets igonored? Photos of the mouth are a great diagnostic tool to see changes, especially close up photos. Patients can tell large scale changes by looking at pictures of themselves over a period of seveal years. As teeth wear, the positon of the teeth changes so patients can continue to chew normally. However, aesthetics may be changing from gum levels that are no longer even, to rotated and broken teeth. There are ways to correct this, but the longer the time frame over which this occurs, the increase time that is needed to correct the problems.
