There are new concerns that have been discussed in medical magazines about spray on sunscreens on children.

The issue is about inhaling the fumes from the spray-on sunscreen.  I have seen parents spraying the sunscreen on the bodies of their children, and even on the child’s face.  Surrounding the child when the Mom/Dad have finished (trying to do the right thing and prevent their kids from getting burned and possibly getting skin cancer) looks like pig-pen just wandered in.  A cloud of hazey chemicals is swimming around the child and their nose.

The Food and Drug Administration has announced that it’s investigating the potential risks of spray sunscreen.  In the meantime though, it seems logical to spray the product onto your hand (feet away from where the child is standing) and then apply to your child.  It does seem to take away from the benefit from the spray itself, but protecting your children’s lungs and health has to be more important than our convenience.

09/12/11- Monday Food Diary: 

7:00-1 cup egg whites (120 cal)

2 pieces bread (whole wheat, I'm using Ezekial bread from the organic freezer section.  It has no glutens, and low sugar and salt) (160 cal)

11 a.m.- protein shake (160 cal)

2 p.m.-5 oz. roast chix (176 cal)

3 oz sweet potatoes ( baked)

8 oz green vegetables ( raw or steamed)

1/2 tsp Uda's or flax oil ( 65 cal)

6 p.m.- 3 oz Prime Rib (221 cal)

3 oz. corn ( boiled - I dont cook mine and I use organic bagged corn)

8 oz cauliflower ( steamed) (74 cal)

1/2 tsp Uda's or flax oil ( 65 cal)

                                                                                                          8 p.m.- 3 oz chicken breast ( roasted)

                                                                                                                3 oz brown rice or quieno ( 101 cal)


8 oz. green vegetables (raw or steamed) (88 cal)
